Computer Vision

Perception, 3D understanding and vision-language systems: the specialists teaching machines to see. Part of our Machine Learning & Generative AI discipline, we work with researchers and engineers building computer vision from early-stage labs through to production at scale.

Job Description

Hiring in Computer Vision isn't like other technical hiring.

Computer vision candidates worth hiring are usually already deep in a role, publishing at the field's leading conferences, or fielding offers before they've updated a CV. Generic outreach doesn't reach them, and generic recruiters don't know how to qualify them.

At Enigma, we track the researchers and engineers behind the work being presented and published, so when a search opens up, we're not starting from a keyword search.
  • CVPR
  • ICCV
  • ECCV
  • NeurIPS
  • ICLR
Many of the teams we support here are also hiring across Robotics and ML Infrastructure, so we're used to building the fuller picture of a team, not just filling a single seat.

What a Good Partnership Looks Like

We work best as a close, informed extension of your team, not a CV-forwarding service.
one
Define the Brief
Align on what "great" actually looks like, whether that's a first perception hire or a research lead.
two
Map the Market
Understand who's active in computer vision right now, across labs, startups and adjacent robotics teams.
three
Focused Search
Target the right people, not more people, drawing on relationships built at CVPR, ICCV and ECCV.
four
Guide the Process
Keep momentum, clarity and alignment from first call through to offer stage.
five
Deliver & Refine
Secure the hire, then refine the approach for next time so every search gets sharper.

FAQs

It depends on seniority and how narrow the brief is. A perception or detection engineer hire typically moves faster than a research scientist search, since the qualified pool is smaller and more selective at that level. We'll give you a realistic timeline once we've scoped the brief together, rather than a generic promise upfront.

No. We cover the full range, from applied research scientists with a strong publication record through to engineers focused on shipping perception systems into production. Not every computer vision hire needs a PhD, and part of our job is helping you work out what level the role actually requires.

Both. Many of our clients start with one critical hire and scale from there, often bringing us back for Embedded Talent Acquisition once they're building out a full computer vision function.

CVPR, ICCV and ECCV are the core ones for computer vision specifically, alongside NeurIPS and ICLR for candidates working closer to the research end. We also stay close to labs like DeepMind and FAIR alumni networks.

Yes, it's where we do some of our best work. Early-stage teams often need their first computer vision hire to set technical direction for years to come, and that's a very different search from backfilling a role on an established team, one we're set up specifically to run.
